We couldn't be happier with our stay at Lake Road Cottage! From the time we booked until we left the owners, Mark and Beth were so easy to work with making us feel like we've known them! Their response time was so quick and the cottage was perfect! It was spotless when we arrived and even though we didn't get to use the fire pit, bikes or kayaks due to the weather we enjoyed our stay very much. The view was beautiful we even put on our ponchos and had coffee on the deck in the mornings. The street was quiet and we slept so well with a nice fall breeze. We found a break in the rain and were able to get to check out Perot State Park ... and... GOT ENGAGED!!! We couldn't have dreamed of a better weekend retreat and are so thankful for Mark and Beth's hospitality and generosity! We will return most definitely! Thank you so much! 5 Star Review from VRBO

Honeymoon -

My husband and I were impressed with how well maintained and clean the cottage was when we arrived. It has everything you will need for a quiet getaway. Which also made it easy for us to cook a lot of our own meals. There is so much to do in the area as well! We went hiking at Parrot State Park, kayaking, did a wine tasting at Elmaro Winery, and stopped at Ecker's apple farm. We lucked out with the weather so we were able to get out and do a lot! The only thing we didn't get to was taking the bikes out for a ride. But there is always next time. We highly recommend the Lake Road Cottage. I cannot wait to come back some day! Thank you to Mark and Beth for making our trip memorable. 5 Star Review from VRBO

We Loved Your Cottage

We LOVED your lake cottage. It was so convenient to the places we needed to go. It was very clean and comfortable. We felt very at home there, we used the kayaks and bikes and had a great time. Took an adventure to an apple orchard, Galesville, and drove by the winery. It was so early so they weren’t open. We’ll for sure rent the cottage again. It met our needs and so much more. I loved the extra touches, oh the pull out sofa was VERY comfortable, the bag of toiletries in the bathroom was a nice touch too. We loved your pots and pans and kitchen utensils………J Rating and review from VRBO

Great Weekend!

The cabin was exactly as described - clean, comfy, and located on Long Lake, a backwater of the Mississippi where you can slip right into the water on the kayaks that Beth and Mark provide. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. The location is great - nearby Perrot State Park, the Wildlife Refuge, and the bike trail. We had a great weekend! Fantastic Time!

Kat & I had a fantastic time in Trempealeau at Lake Road Cottage, and we would happily visit again! The home was very inviting upon our arrival, clean and very well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and everything was as comfortable as we could want – including the best large table for a 2000 piece puzzle (we later learned it was handmade by Mark)! Having two kayaks available was perfect for us, and we used them frequently (Long Lake, Round Lake, backwaters, and even a short run down the Mississippi). The area was quiet and fairly private, and we enjoyed watching the birds (herons, egrets, and eagles) and seeing the fish jump in the mornings and evenings. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. We highly recommend spending as much time as possible at Lake Road Cottage. (Thanks for making this available, Beth & Mark!) An absolutely amazing stay!

An absolutely amazing stay! The location was incredible. We used the bikes to ride to Perrot State Park and did a full day of hiking there. The following days we used the kayaks to go around the loop that literally starts right outside your door. The owners were also incredible. So easy to work with and answered my texts very quickly. The owners also provided excellent information to area attractions, hiking, biking, kayaking and more. I will absolutely be coming back to stay at this location again. The place was so clean and accommodating. An amazing getaway for two people. The bed was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped with very nice dishes. The fire pit was lovely and a perfect way to end the evening. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to literally walk with your kayak just a few yards and drop right into the river. Thank you for such an incredible stay! Rating and review from AirBNB

Adorable & Comfy

Thanks Mark and Beth. Your cottage is so adorable and so comfy! We would love to come again when we can actually sit outside and use the fire pit. Weather just didn't cooperate with us but (underlined 3 times) we had the opportunity to meet many local people. Letter left at cottage from Roxanne and Jillian. Rating and review from AirBNB

Relaxation & Serenity

The Lake Road Cottage was a fabulous selection for our romantic get-a-way. We had a blast kayaking on the backwaters of the Mississippi and even limited out on pan fish within 4 hours. The cabin was fabulously stocked with everything you could possibly need to relax and enjoy serenity. Rating and review from VRBO

PERFECT !! Wonderful quiet location with a peaceful water view. Was hesitant about the road between cottage and the water, but it's a dead end road which made for a great bike ride. With the nice bikes and the kayaks available for use the waterways and the local eateries were another easy source of adventure. Next time we might need to bring the boat and do some fishing! Easy as the boat launch is close by as well! Speaking of close by... Perot State park was only 15 minutes away for our hiking pleasure ... Elmaro vineyard and tasting room with awesome wine and entertainment also a quick jaunt. The cottage itself is adorable , very clean, cute, comfortable and well appointed. I hesitate to say more as I don't want to compete with too many others for future reservations. Rating and review from VRBO
