Kayaking Long Lake in Trempealeau
Kayaking access is just in front of Lake Road Cottage. The cottage is equipped with 2 kayaks and life jackets. Long Lake is a 4 1/2 mile long trail with an easy skill level. This is a looped marked trail so you won't get lost. Do your best to go when Long Lake is glassy and calm; usually in the evening or early morning. The Big Marsh can be windy and may be a workout so it's best to avoid paddling if it is windy. The lake winds through the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. This is a small channel off the Mississippi River which makes for a nice paddling. You can launch just across the street from the cottage. You may see Eagles, Heron, Pelican, Turtles, Kingfisher and all sorts of other wildlife.

KINSTONE - KINSTONE Facebook Page
Kinstone is a megalithic stone garden on about 30 acres of privately owned property. It is said that it is home to the only privately owned stone circles in the world. I call it WI's own Stonehenge. The place is unique and Christine's (owner) vision is pretty amazing. The place has a stunning chapel with glass bottles and clear glass plates housed in the walls so that the sunshine creates images as it reflects through the glass. So for the 60 to 90 minutes it will take to stroll the garden, you will enjoy the views and be in awe of the size of some of the stones. Kinstone is about a 20 minute drive from LRC.

Massage Every Body Massage
Just indulge yourself! I do my best to enjoy at least one massage per trip. After all the hiking, biking and kayaking you will be doing, this will be a perfect treat. Afterwards, sit in the Adirondack chairs at the cottage and enjoy the view and the birds.
