Welcome to Lake Road Cottage!

It's just about time to your check-in at Lake Road Cottage. Here are few things that you need to know:

How to get there: Once you have arrived in Trempealeau you will want to make your way to the River Stop, 24013 3rd Street. You will then proceed SOUTH on Fremont Street. Fremont changes into Lake Road. The drive from the River Stop to 23148 Lake Road is 1.7 miles. About 1.6 miles on your right you will pass the Upper Mississippi River Long Lake Boat Landing. From there, on your left you will pass a street sign for Bluebird Lane and we are the first house on your left after the street sign. If you get to a fork in the road, you have gone to far. If you drive to water, you have really gone to far.

Key Code For Access: Your code to unlock and lock the upstairs and downstairs door has been provided via email & text. See image below for instructions on the key-less code lock.

The larger chair in the living room is a recliner.  It's a electric and the controls are on the right hand side.  It's so comfy -

Check in and Check out - Check-in is 4:00 pm and Check-out is 12:00 pm unless we have communicated that early check-in and/or late check-out is available.

After your visit - we would love if you would post a review on the LRC website or booking channel.

THINGS TO KNOW:

The bike lock combination is: 2016

Please read the Guest Requests, Check-in and Departure Checklists which are on the refrigerator.

LRC is equipped with a water filtration system.  So, you can ditch the plastic bottle.

Trempealeau does not have a grocery store. The closest grocery store is Festival in Holmen (20 minutes) & Woodman's in LaCrosse (30 minutes).  There is the River Stop can get you by in a pinch for bread, butter & beer.

There is no Internet.  4G-LTE works fine and 3G works.

See Kayak Map below for the Long Lake Canoe Trail which is just about 4 miles of paddling in beautiful backwaters.

1% to Trempealeau - For 2018, 1% of LRC gross rental income will be donated to the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge.

Fishing - See map below.

If you want to fish the Main River Channel the Trempealeau Landing is the best choice.

The main channel is also accessible from Round lake most of the time (keep an eye out for fallen trees in the water), though the marsh can be shallow and weedy, usually a pretty defined boat trail through it.

Long Lake has a beaver dam that restrict access during lower water times, depending on type of boat may not be worth the hassle.

There is a fish cleaning station in the backyard by the compost pile.

Have Fun!

Beth and Mark
